This is MY journey with MS! I give you my thoughts, feelings, hopes, and prayers. My wish that one day this disease will come to an end. That one day there will be a cure. For now, I hold on to possibility. I HOPE this will help and inspire not only myself but others.

Hello, I am the brother of Happymama. I have had MS for about 4 years now. I started taking Avenex and after a year my Doc said it wasn't working as good as she hoped so she switched me to Rebif. It is alot better. I take 3 shots a week. Its more like a diabetic shot. It took only a few weeks to get used to it but now its not bad at all. I use a Tylonol based med called percogesic(sp) You can get from CVS etc...I take the shot beforw bed and the Tylonol an hour before. Last two MRI's showed nothing new. Anything you want to know about Rebif?

Welcome John! I am glad you dropped in on my blog.

At this point I have just started to take Avonex and have only tried Copaxone. Because of my other health problems my doctors have been hesitant to have me take the interferons. It was not until recently that I was given the okay to try the Avonex and that was only with careful testing and because it is administered once a week at a lowered dose.

I assume if I do not respond to the Avonex then my doctor would consider moving on to something else, but for now this is where I am at. I believe it is worth it to give it a good fighting try to see how I respond, even though I have experienced some side effects. I hear that the side effects are common, but they do go away after a while, and I suspect that some of my side effects may be also due to other health problems.

I am glad that you stopped by and I will go check out your blog. I hope that you continue to visit my blog. I hope to hear from you soon.

Please go to www.drugs.com and search for Percogesic. Get the extra strength. Take 2 one hour before bed on shot night. It did wonders for me. Helps me sleep as well as help with side effects.
